Mysteries of Lisbon: Best TV series and Best DVD for the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics
Mysteries of Lisbon won two awards during this year’s ceremony of the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics’ prizes. Raúl Ruiz’s cherished masterpiece was distinguished both as the Best TV Series and Best DVD of the year.
After receiving the most important award of French cinema, the Louis Delluc prize, this recognition consolidates the remarkable success of this unstoppable film - the most acclaimed of the current Portuguese cinema.
The French Syndicate of Cinema Critics, represents 250 members, including professionals that work at such prestigious publications as Le Monde, Positif or Les Inrockuptibles, is the responsible for the Critics’ Week at Cannes Film Festival.
Since its release, Mysteries of Lisbon already conquered several important awards, including San Sebastián Film Festival’s Silver Shell, the Critics Prize at São Paulo International Film Festival and a Satellite Award for Best Foreign Language Picture. Raúl Ruiz’s masterpiece was also considered Best Foreign Film by the Toronto Film Critics Circle and the Chilean helmer won the New York Film Critics Circle’ Special Award.
