Mysteries of Lisbon will be released this month in Russia and during October in Japan
MYSTERIES OF LISBON continues to reach more and more countries even almost two years after its premiere in France (20th October, 2010). On July 12th, RAÚL RUIZ's masterpiece will be released in RUSSIA and next October it will be seen on the Japanese cinemas.
Both premieres join the long list of countries where MYSTERIES OF LISBON was already released, that includes France (with more than 100 000 admissions), U.S.A., Canada, United Kingdom, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Chile, New Zealand and Taiwan, all of them critically acclaimed.
Since its release, MYSTERIES OF LISBON already won several important awards, including San Sebastián Film Festival’s Silver Shell, the Louis Delluc Prize, the Critics Prize at São Paulo International Film Festival and a Satellite Award for Best Foreign Language Picture.
RAÚL RUIZ's masterpiece was also considered Best Foreign Film by the Toronto Film Critics Circle and the Chilean helmer won the New York Film Critics Circle’ Special Award.
In 2012, Mysteries of Lisbon won two awards during this year’s ceremony of the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics’ prizes. Raúl Ruiz’s cherished masterpiece was distinguished both as the Best TV Series and Best DVD of the year.
